Event details

This event is now off sale. Any pre-booked uncollected tickets will be available to collect on the door. Tickets will be available to purchase on the door according to availability.

Stronghold Re-enactment will be at West Stow to bring to life the events surrounding the Battle of Fornham during its 850th anniversary.

A living history camp will demonstrate what life was like during the 11th century and a display of arms and armour will culminate in a tournament where knights of both sides will compete.

The culmination of this event will be a simulation of the Battle of Fornham with audio commentary involving dozens of combatants on each side. This exciting climax will commence at 3.30pm in the Battlefield Arena and will give the audience an insight into how battles were fought.

Children’s weapons drill, a living history tour of the camp and displays are all part of this exciting experience!

Part of a series of events marking the 850th anniversary of the Battle of Fornham; an exhibition at Moyse’s Hall, open days at All Saints Hotel, and presentations and research by The Battlefields Trust.
