Event details

How close are we to Neanderthal people? The latest archaeological techniques can tell us.

Find out about the people who looked and behaved just like us but were not us in a lavishly illustrated talk of about an hour. It introduces the very latest discoveries on the people who lived here around 400,000 years ago. Includes a chance to handle original objects from this period; preceded by an hour long (12 to 1 pm) guided walk to a nearby site with the earliest hearth evidence in Britain.
This event finishes about 3pm.
